Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our Australian Labradoodles and adoption process.
Australian Labradoodles are a carefully developed breed that originated in Australia. They are a combination of Labrador Retriever, Poodle, and Cocker Spaniel. They are known for their non-shedding, allergy-friendly coats, wonderful temperaments, and intelligence. They make excellent family companions and therapy dogs.
Our Australian Labradoodle puppies are $3,000 plus GST. This includes a comprehensive puppy package with veterinary health check, microchip, current vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter, 2-year health guarantee, ALAA registration, training materials, and a puppy care package.
To reserve a puppy, contact us to express your interest and we'll discuss available or upcoming litters. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot on the reservation list. The deposit is transferable to another litter if needed and can be sent via e-transfer (contact us for payment details). The remaining balance is due upon pickup.
All our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health testing including OFA Hip and Elbow evaluations, OFA Eye Certification, Von Willebrand's Disease testing, Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) testing, IC Locus verification, and complete DNA profiling. We are committed to breeding only the healthiest dogs.
We provide a 2-year health guarantee against any debilitating congenital defect, up to the purchase price of the puppy. This guarantee requires that buyers maintain proper care including indoor housing, premium food, regular vet visits, and spaying/neutering by 6 months of age.
Australian Labradoodles are considered allergy-friendly as they have non-shedding coats. While no dog is truly 100% hypoallergenic, Australian Labradoodles are an excellent choice for people with allergies. Their fleece or wool coats produce significantly less dander than most breeds.
We breed Australian Labradoodles in miniature (15-25 lbs), medium (30-45 lbs), and standard (50+ lbs) sizes. Our current breeding dogs range from our miniature Sprocket (16 lbs) to our standard Smokey Joe (54 lbs). The size of puppies depends on the parent pairing.
Yes, all puppies are sold as pets only and come spayed or neutered before going to their forever homes. This is included in the purchase price. Puppies cannot be bred under our contract, and failure to comply voids the health guarantee.
Our Guardian Home Program allows select families to raise one of our breeding dogs as their own family pet. Guardian families must live within one hour of Red Deer, Alberta. The dog returns to Rose Country for breeding-related visits and health testing. All breeding-related medical costs are covered by the breeder, while the guardian covers routine care. After the breeding contract is fulfilled, the dog is fully yours!
Rose Country Labradoodles is located in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. We serve families across Alberta and all of Canada. Our guardian families are located in Red Deer, Sylvan Lake, Lacombe, Carstairs, and surrounding communities.
We recommend having the following ready: a collar and leash with ID tag, a 36" metal crate with divider and bed, stainless steel dishes, puppy food (Now puppy mixed with Sojos fruit and veggie), ear cleaner, nail clippers, slicker brush and comb, toys (Nylabone, bully sticks), and puppy shampoo and conditioner. Optional items include poochie bells and bitter apple spray.
ALAA stands for Australian Labradoodle Association of America. It is the primary registry and governing body for the Australian Labradoodle breed. All of our breeding dogs and puppies are registered with the ALAA, which ensures breed standard compliance, proper record-keeping, and ethical breeding practices.
